”During the hearing, Gupta said the High Court of Madhya Pradesh had in 2016 amended its rules to bring in use of double sided prints. Consequently, double side prints were not feasible due to printing marks coming all on the paper. However, modern day printers are efficient and the paper quality has improved.It said, “One sided printing came into practice only because in earlier times typewriters were used and the papers used be thin. Hari Shankar, however, declined to issue a direction asking the Centre to write to the rule making committee to make the appropriate changes in the prevalent practice of paper uغير مجاز مي باشدe by the high court and the subordinate courts, saying “let us not set a precedent of Union of India writing to the courts to make rules”.

MSBSHSE Mumbai division chairman Dattatray Jagtap confirmed that the board had provided hand written question papers to students appearing for the Japanese language paper on Wednesday. When asked about the same, a custodian from the western suburbs said that in such cases where the students are few, the board sends a single question paper that the exam centre has to multiply and distribute. A student who appeared for the exam said that they were given copies of a hand written question paper which is against the normal procedure followed by the board of providing printed question papers. Even though the students have said that they are afraid that their results will be affected due to this, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) that conducts the paper said that there was no problem in the paper and nothing can be done for the students. The students further said that the copies were very light as a result of which the words were not legible. Meanwhile, Jagtap said that the question paper sent by the board was clear and had no mistakes, hence nothing could be done for the students.. “There are only 17 students registered for the subject in the Mumbai division.Students who appeared for the Japanese language paper in the ongoing HSC exam on Wednesday have complained that they were unable to answer the paper properly as the question paper was hand written and not legible. “It is possible that the printing was light and hence the students found it difficult to decipher the questions,” said the custodian. The students added that when it was brought to the notice of the supervisor they were told that nothing could be done about it. Though the students insisted that they get a better quality of question paper they were denied the same and had to write the answers on the question paper itself
